ABOUT ABOUT
Channel your inner Don Draper and impress your pals with some newly acquired skills behind the bar. That's right, you're invited to come spend a Saturday afternoon with resident barman & mix-master Steve Warner for a one-on-one, how-to cocktail course. Steve will lead a small group of imbibers through each and every step of the process of making classic drinks using a range of mixology techniques. You will be taught to shake, stir and properly serve each and every elixir capably on your own. Between Steve’s spirited narrative, the quality time you’ll spend with our shakers and a few stops for sips and breaks for bites, you'll be looking at 2 hours here.

This class is perfect for the host with the most, the budding mixologist and the curious imbiber alike. Students will learn a bit of history surrounding the drinks and will be provided with a nifty little bar set to craft the following classics:

Martini
We’ll debate the debatable origins of the classic through modern interpretations including the evolution from Gin to Vodka, the history and mystery of Vermouth - and how this most civilized of sippers has ultimately given in and given way to what amounts to a large glass of cold booze. We'll also examine celebrity influences over the years and how it’s shaped this staple - all the while walking through a variety of techniques from proper chilling to garnishing tricks of the trade.

The Julep
Find out what constitutes a julep – and differentiates a smash or a cup – the influence of the Derby on modern presentation, and how the tin cup, crushed ice, and sugar affect the temperature and texture of the Whiskey. Steve will even spill a few special ways to personalize this classic.

The Ramos Gin Fizz
Dig into the heritage of this beloved cocktail steeped in New Orleans history and learn key details such as the importance of a long shake and proper handling of eggs in beverages. While we’re on the topic of cream drinks, Steve will walk through a few killer alternative cocktails.

Daiquiri
Shed the cruise ship stereotype behind this complex cocktail and go through the political roots and evolution of the Daiquiri which stem back to touchy US-Cuba relations and Papa Hemingway himself.
